Horizon Sonicwall VPN Setup Guide
How to connect a Home Windows 10 PC to Horizon Workstation via SonicWall VPN

- Install “Sonicwall Mobile Connect” from Microsoft Store
- Create a VPN connector
- Connect to your work PC
Preparation
- Patching your Home computer
Go to – Settings->Update & Security
Check and install all new updates, repeat until nothing left to install
Home IP Addresses 192.168.1.0, 192.168.2.0, 192.168.10.0, 192.168.11.0, 10.0.0.0 are not supported and will prevent the VPN from connecting to Horizon
Suggested IP Network : 192.168.50.0 ~ 192.168.200.0
- Find out your home IP Address
Type “IPCONFIG” in “Command Prompt” by searching for CMD in the Windows Search Bar in the bottom left corner next to the Start Menu
- If You Need To Change Your Home IP Address
Login into your home router and change the network range settings to update your network address. Then restart your Router and Workstation. Your internet provider, (Telus, Shaw, etc) can help, but if they are uncooperative, you can call Horizon IT for help.
Setup
- Find and install the “Sonicwall Mobile Connect” from Microsoft Store ($0.00)
Go to “ Windows settings” -> “Network & Internet” -> “VPN”
Click on the VPN option on the left side
Click “Add a VPN connection”
For VPN Provider choose “Sonicwall Mobile Connect”
Connection Name: Horizon
Server name : https://hd.horizondistributors.com:4433
Note: We suggest you uncheck “Remember my sign-in info”
Connect to your work PC
Select the VPN “Horizon”, click “Connect”
Username : your windows login name without domain (callumn)
Password : your windows password
Open the “Microsoft Authenticator” on your phone, and enter the 6-digit code displays on the phone
When the VPN is connected, you will see “Connected” under Horizon
- Remote desktop to your Workstation
Run “Remote Desktop Connection” and enter the IP address of your computer at Horizon
For the first time connect, select “More choices” -> use a different account
Username: your username@horizon.com
Password : your windows password
