Working Collaboratively in Teams/SharePoint
There are two methods to work on documents together online using either SharePoint or Teams. These methods help circumvent a common issue where having the Excel application open causes files not to sync immediately. This is because the OneDrive application treats files worked on by Excel as occupied even if the file is closed until the Excel application itself is closed. A good way to get common files to sync immediately is to save the file in question and then close fully out of Excel, then check for the green checkmark next to the file you want synced. This method is also useful because when working in the browser, you can see where other users are in that file.
To work collaboratively with Teams:
First go to the location of the file you want to collaborate on in Teams.

Right click the file or click the three dots and then select Open > and choose open in browser (You can change the default through this menu as well).

Once the file is open for each user you can start working on the file collaboratively.

Be careful not to open the file in different ways to each other (Locally through OneDrive, SharePoint, or Teams. This can cause issues such as crashing.)
To work collaboratively with Sharepoint/OneDrive:
Either click “View Online” on the file you want to work collaboratively on or go to Teams and click on “Open in SharePoint” and navigate to the file in question. You can also click on "View online" in the OneDrive menu.

From SharePoint right click on the file you want to work collaboratively on or click on the three dots next to it and then click Open> and Open in Browser.

Alternatively, to access your OneDrive online you can go to https://www.office.com and then open the top left menu, and finally click OneDrive; from there navigate to the file in question.
